Overview
On Saturday, September 30, 2017, we took an evening flight from Washington Dulles International Airport to Montreal, Canada. From there, we rented an SUV, and in the late evening, we started driving up to Quebec City, making one stop along the way in the city of Trois-Rivieres.
Trois-Rivieres
About half way between Montreal and Quebec City, we stopped in the city of Trois-Rivieres (Three Rivers) for a late night snack and a drink. On this Saturday night, we found a lively little restaurant/bar called Le Temps D’Une Pinte (The Time of a Pint), on Rue Notre Dame Centre, just a block off the water.
We got seated in the ‘Americans New to Canada’ section of the bar upstairs, where it was just a little quieter. It didn’t matter. The beer and the food was just as good. Besides, we were in Canada!
After being seated, it really started to sink in that we weren’t ‘in Kansas anymore’. We made the adjustment, and for my first meal in Canada, I had the (fresh local) Salmon tartare and a craft beer. Both were tremendous.
Afterwards, we got back on the road, and finished the drive to our hotel in upper section of Quebec City.
Quebec City
Our hotel was L’Hotel du Capitole, right outside one of the gates to the old city. There we checked in to start our adventure.
