Miércoles, El Segundo de Octubre
For breakfast on Wednesday, October 2nd, Pención Orois gave a tickets for a pilgrim breakfast, consisting of coffee, orange juice, toast, and jam, at A Fábrica do Camiño, a restaurant on the circle in the center of Melide.
We finished our breakfast and started walking through town before daybreak. But on the way out, I wanted to climb up to the Capela do Carme (Chapel of Carme), which looks down on Melide, to take some photos as the sun was coming up.
While we were taking photos, a woman named Renee joined us, having been spooked by an encounter with a local on the way out of town. Renee ended up walking with us for part of the day.
Soon along the trail we came to the Lavaderos (Sta Maria de Mellid), a place where pilgrims would wash.
TBD.
Stone bridge.
We stopped in Boente for a photo at the fountain.
We stopped at TBD for a break, and to let the I’ll Push You group catch up to us. Soon, the leading edge of the I’ll Push You group started to show up.
Some of the group rested with us. Others pressed on to the next café down the street.
About an hour later, we stopped again at TBD. Here the I’ll Push You group caught up with us again.
When we reached Ribiero (?), we stopped for a while at the TBD at the edge of town. There, Patty discussed her experience being a hospataliera (?) with the ones working at TBD.
